Flight running late? When you don't have a minute to spare looking or asking for directions as you rush through the airport, use My Gate Maps to help.
My Gate Maps was designed in anticipation you would refer to an airport map most frequently in an area without or with limited connectivity. Given many airport websites use Flash for their maps, accessing the information from your iPhone/iPod Touch currently isn't possible. Many sites also use PDF, which works beautifully, but isn't practical for a quick lookup as you rush to your connecting gate.
Other than the gate maps themselves, the key features of My Gate Maps are the ability to pick your arrival and connecting gates, see them on the overview and detail maps as well as edit your own list from the included set of airports. With 36 airports currently mapped (and more added frequently as free upgrades based on your requests on the site's project page and in your reviews), using a Favorites list is a good way to access the airports you need in a hurry.
Should you need quick access to an airport you didn't yet add to your Favorites, the Airports tab has them all conveniently pre-loaded. Note that the "picker" feature works only through the Favorites view.
Because the intention is to show gate locations so you can most efficiently get to your connecting gate and because of the limited display area inherent in a mobile device, you won't find the maps cluttered with distractions. When you have time and connectivity to look up a restaurant, a link to the airport's website dining pages is included.
Note that My Gate Maps works in either portrait or landscape mode. Landscape mode hides the status bar to provide more space for the map. Maps also hide the tab bar to maximize the viewable area. By popular request, Pinch & Zoom gesture support has been added.
