OUR MISSION –
Our organization has one overarching mission- to strengthen the growth of the local economy and its people through building community, embracing culture and generating commerce.
WHAT WE STAND FOR-
At the North East Chamber of Commerce, our goal is to improve and grow the way of life in NORTHEAST HOUSTON. To accomplish this goal, we promote local businesses and empower people to get involved in making changes. Our organization gives a platform to people who want to make a difference and a place to network with like minded professionals. We meet monthly to discuss our local business challenges and we create plans for change. We then take action to make those plans a reality.
Our philosophies are based around 3 basic principles of business:
1) The Law of Leverage - This law refers to the leveraging of resources, people and knowledge. Understanding that you, yourself may not have all of the answers or resources but that you probably are connected to someone or something that does.
2) The Law of Reciprocity- to give and take mutually; to return in kind or even in another kind or degree. You may have heard the Law of Reciprocity expressed as: "I'll scratch your back if you scratch mine."
3) The Law of Advocacy- The act of pleading or arguing in favor of something, such as a cause, idea, or policy; active support-----“Being a champion for a cause.”
LEADERSHIP COUNCIL-
The Northeast Area Chamber is made up of members, committees and an 11 member Leadership Council. These 11 people are the chairpersons of each committee and will vote on chamber initiatives, policies, allocations and more. They are the advisory group elected as chairpersons of each committee by the members for the members. The Leadership Council is the leading voice of the chamber membership.
YOUniversity EXPERIENCE-
The Northeast Area Chamber hosts monthly business classes that are geared to business owners and professionals of all kinds. These classes are inspiring, informative and are even great for your entire staff. One of our most popular classes is the networking course. In this class we teach you how to make the most of the Chamber and all other networking opportunities. Even if you aren’t the most outgoing person in the room, after taking our course you will be able to make the connections you want with every encounter. This is just another great benefit of membership with the Northeast Area Chamber of Commerce.
COMMITTEES-
Our committees exist to make the biggest differences in the lives of the people in the community. There is a committee for everyone. Joining gives you and your business great exposure in the community and allows you to make a personal impact.
EVENTS -
The Northeast Area Chamber hosts many events throughout each month. Each event is in a different location.
